about

DYLAN is a relatively old song of mine, written in the summer of 2012 the song tackles the idea of a second love with someone whose heart you have already broken- or vice versa. It was slightly inspired by Billy Joel's "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" and is named for the titular character in the song.

lyrics

I bought some flowers to give to my baby for stepping over the line.
It's no excuse to abuse a pretty lady just for having a good time.
She says "honey, I see your face, we've been down this road before.
I've seen this movie I've heard this tune, best to settle all my scores.
And just go."

Sniffs around like a hound dog- does he- and he's sneakin' over the line.
Every dog has his day he's complaining but he ain't no friend of mine.
"Say you need me and I'll be yours forever- I don't like being alone."
My heart says hurry, head's all blurry, don't you worry-
"gotta throw this dog a bone.
And come home."

I know you wouldn't believe a word I told you if I tried.
I feel it's my moral obligation to swallow down my pride.
"There comes a time in your life when you must decide what your life is."
I found my self in a contemplation and decided to forgive.
And just live.

She cries.
Middle of the night.
Scene of lover's fight.
Rolling of the dice.
Fire
in the middle of the night,
forces us out into the streets together.
Happy Valentine's!
Don't you worry now.
Don't you worry 'bout a thing.
For the time is right
and you can feel it in your bones now.
All this solitude.
This is the way to prove
yourself to me
if you're really who
I'm supposed to be with
then take my hand baby
can't you see
I'm the one for you
You're the one for me…….

I bought some flowers to give to my baby for stepping over the line.
Every dog has his day he's complaining- but he ain't no friend of mine!
